During our Spring 2025 AICA Board Meeting, Dearmont Ranch of Bassett, Nebraska, was honored with the AICA Commercial Producer of the Year award.

This family-run operation—led by Leota and Harry, Wade and Shareen Dearmont, and their children—is well known for their Black White Face cowherd and the use of Charolais bulls to produce the high-performing hybrid cross favored by feeders.
When asked why Charolais works for their program, Wade Dearmont shared: “We really feel that the power, performance, and added weight per day of age that the Charolais breed adds to our calf crop is a big deal for our bottom line.”
